Wrapping up the holidays

This is a shadow box frame I made for my in-laws for Christmas, as well I made two others in the summer and I brought to my parents, one to my mom, one to my dad. They are not SU, Sean and I found them on sale for few dollars in Joanns and decided to get them for Xmas.

Well, I am all about nicely wrapped gifts. I remember while I was in Macedonia, all the neighbours would come to my place to wrap their gifts for different occassions, it was funnt. Here are couple gifts I wrapped with SU paper and mace tags with SU supplies(the tag punches, scallop punch, The snowflake spot and True Friend sets, Whisper WHite, Purely Pomogranate and River Rock cardstock, and Purely Pomogranate and Whisper White ink pads, the ribbon is not SU, I still need to get the ribbon for rest of the gifts)
There will be some great specials for the wrapping supplies and tag making stamps on the end of November through December 15, so stay tuned to find more about those specials soon.

I think I like this one better than the Joy one under this one.

Today's cards

For this card, I used soft sky card stock and classic ink pad, whisper white card stock, versamark ink pad, iriscendent embossing powder (not SU), and the Snowflake spot stamp set.

For this one I used Brocade bkg DP, chocolate chip card stock and classic ink pad, always arthicoke and whisper white cardsctok, white gel pen, always arthichoke ribbon and Meaning of a life stamp set (retired)
I used pumpkin pie cardstock, basic black cardstock, always arthichoke cardstock, paper glaze(I applied it with a painting brush along the edges of the pumpkins and the tops of the pumpkins). Always arthicoke classic ink pad, pumpkin pie ink pad for watercoloring the pumpkins with aqua painter. Staz-on for the pumpkins and classinc black for the sentinment. I used Fall whimsy set(retired) and Holidays and greetings stamp set

For this one I used the Holidays and Greetings stamp set and the Sidekick sayings, I used summer sun,old olive, close to cocoa and purely pomogranate inkpads for watercoloring the tree (I used traditional paint brushes), and brished some paper glaze on the star and the ornaments , Staz-on black inkpad, versamark ink pad, purely pomogranate, old olive and whisper white cardstock

One more card for the night

This one was very quick comparing with the previous one, it took me about 5 min.

Purely Pomogranate cardstock
Always Arthichoke cardstock
Always Arthichoke classic ink pad

Time well spent

Well I don't know if the time I spent on this card (over 1 hour maybe 2), was well spent...
I saw similar card on SCS, so decided to make one.
I used:
Time Well Spent stamp set
Staz-on black ink pad
Apricot Apeal classic ink pad
Pumpkin Pie classic ink pad
Not Quite Navy classic ink pad
Bashful Blue classic ink pad
Always Arthichoke classic ink pad
Close to Cocoa classic ink pad

Dimensionals for the butterfly
Not Quite Navy cardstock
Whisper White cardstock

What I want for Christmas

I remember when I was little all I wanted for Christmas was : A BIG CHOCOLATE with WHOLE HAZELNUTS! ( I didn't ask for much! and I always got it)
Now I want this :
( I don't ask for much again, LoL, kidding)-maybe some day, until then I will be satisfied with my little craft corner in the kitchen.

Origami box

I was planning to make this box from the SU DPS, but I couldn't wait and wanted to try how it comes out before I ruin a 12"x12" piece of paper. So here is the turn out: And this is my helper while I was making the box, she wanted to check what is inside, so on the end she got greenies to keep her busy and less curious. She loves puling the boxes with stamps and chewing on the wood, and sitting on top of the cardstock. Though few months ago when I moved my craft stuff from the living room to the bedtoom and from the bedtoom to the kitchen, she hasn't had chance to do that. :D

Gamsol Magic

I used the Gamsol Magic technique for this one, I used Pale Plum,Creamy Caramel and Whisper White cardstock, and hemp twine. I used the retired set "Garden Collage", it's one of my favorite sets!

Brown Magic

Okay, this technique is called black magic, but I used chocolate chip cardstock, so I called it brown magic. The other day I saw Karen's (Claire's aunt) card on SCS, and decided to try out the technique. I was contemplating which set to use, and of course I ended up with Baroque Motifs. I used Prismacolor pencils, instead of Pure Color Pencils( I don't have those yet). After I stamped with white ink, I colored the images and added some touch with white gel pen, then mounted it on Pale Plum cardstock, and then on Purely Pomogranate card, I added strip of Pale Plum on the bottom and dark brown ribbon (not SU) on top of it. So here is how it turned out.

I just made this little container and little 3x3 card for the women in my bible discussion group, well I just made 1 ( I need to make 3 or 4 more). It's not finished yet, I am planning to make little celophane bags and fill them with potpouri and tie the baggie with elegant eggplant ribbon and put it in the box with the card.
I made this little box to hold a gift card, I used Pureply Pomogranate, but it doesn't really look like it on the picture. I am getting the Purely Holoday wrapping paper for our xmas gifts, so I wanted this one to match too :)

Wow, I am famous. Just kidding.
The lady who did my make up for my wedding (actually both -long story) put up my face on her website. . She is such a great make up artist! Oh yeah, I lived with her and her family for like 10 months since I came to the US, and she was my Matron of Honor.

Baroque Motifs

One more card I made with the set Baroque Motifs, I think it's one of my favorite, as well the colors chocolate chip and soft sky

2 cards

Sheesh, for a whole day I made just two cards. I found it hard sitting down and making cards, I found so many distractions in the home, and I thought I will make about 10 cards today :( I saw this design on Splitcoaststampers and decided to case it, the flower in glued with dimensionals, but for some reason the picture doesn't reflect that.
I made this card for a friend from church, her father passed away last week, I just got around making a card for her, the Sympathy stamp is not SU, that's the only one I have for this occasion, so I had to use that one. The picture is little blury, but I saw that after I mailed the card

This year's Christmas cards

I forgot to post our Xmas cards for this year, I got the idea (and cased it) from Claire for the blue cards, I just used versamark ink and embossed it with silver embossing powder, and the ribbon is not SU.Those are for my side of the family. Sean liked the rubby red/old olive/natural ivory one, so I made 12 of those for his side of the family. On some of them I used Always Artichocke cardstock, and I used Chocolate Chip ink, and sponged for the edges.

Some old cards-Acetate and tissue and last year's Xmas cards

These are our last year's Xmas cards I made with the set Painted Prints(long time ago retired), the rest of the supplies are not SU. The red card had stamped Merry Xmas with red ink, but can't be seen at all. I didn't bother to fix it.
This are couple cards I made in the summer to try out the technique acetate and tissue
I used Fall Whimsy (retired set), Staz On black ink, more mustard paper and night of navy. The rest of the supplies are not SU. I added Pearl-ex on the acetate, well between the acetate and the tissue paper(but the picture can't really show it)
I hope to make some cards today, I still haven't gotten around to it. :(

Being a demonstrator equals FREE STAMPS

So last night, or early morning I placed an order, and then wanted to check it, lol, and I saw some other order in my account which said FREE stamp set. It comes up to be a free stamp set from Stampin' Up to just say THANK YOU, and it's a 3rd level Hostess Set from the upcoming catalog Sping-Summer 2008. So this month I get 2 free sets (one from my order as hostess benefits one as gift from Stampin' Up). Isn't it great being SU demonstrator?

If you are interested in being a demo, contact me!

Been a while

since I posted any cards. I hope to do pretty soon, in day or two. I just ordered me some new toys (a,k.a stamps and supplies)- getting ready for the winter break :) which is starting on December 15th. Sean said to not buy anything before Christmas, because I don't know what I will get. I put together a Stampin' Up wish list LoL and he has it now. I guess it's now " no more new toys till Christmas"-so sad. ;)
