Milk Carton

We are back from my in-laws, it was a nice weekend, but not with very happy ending once we got back home, as I got very sick, I don't know if it's food poisoning or something like that.
Anyways...I am getting better.
On Saturday we went to Lowe's to pick up some tiles to make coasters for my family as gifts, and we saw Ben Frenklin Crafts store which was going out of bussiness and they had everything on 80% off sale, even they were selling the shelves...LoL...I picked up bunch of goodies, the ones they had left. Including this milk cartons, and I just had to make one today (pack of 4 was only $1.20). I used Lots of thoughts and Small Flowers stamp sets, tempting turquoise and certainly celery inks and cardstock, certainly celery narrow grosgrain ribbon, scallop punch ,3/16" corner rounder punch. The patterned paper is not SU!, it something I have had for a while.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge 41 etc

I did clean up my MESS yesterday! Here is the proof!!!

And this is from today what I saw when I went out to get the mail, I thought it was cute. I am still trying to get used to seeing squirells all the time, as in Macedonia they are so rare, and you can see them only in the forests and that is rare too.

But what was in the mail was more important! I got my second Green Card, which is permanent permanent, I mean it's forever which means the condition was removed. So I am excited about that!

Here is my take on Beate's weekend challenge #41

The stamps used are not SU!
Stamps: from Penny Black
cs: close to cocoa, pretty in pink, berry bliss dp
accessories: brads, pretty in pink taffeta ribbon, sponges, corner rounder punch, 3/4" circle punch ( I think), crystal effects, paint brush for applying crystal effects
ink: basic black, close to cocoa
markers: prisma color and Chartpak ad markers

Probably this is my last post till Monday, as later today Sean and I are going to visit his parents in York, PA (close there), somewhere between Harisburg and Lancaster, PA.

Watercoloring etc

Finals are over and the grades are up, I got one A+, two A's and one stinkin' B in Microeconomics, but I am happy with my B considering how much I hate multiple choice exams and tricky answers. LoL.

My new allergy medications are working! WooHoo!
In little over 2 weeks I am starting my co-op at Peco. I still need to do the drug screening for the job.
And finally I am done with the project I was working on, and the result of it is an TOTALLY MESSY ROOM, as you can see below, so I need to work on that now. My workspace has never been as messy as it's now!!! Gotta do some cleaning now.

Other than that I wanted to share some watercoloring effects and tips. I stamped the frog from Unfrogettable on 3 different papers and got 3 different watercoloring results. I colored with ink pads and with paint brushes. I think the trick is to use different sizes of brushes. I personally don't like the aqua painter at all, I don't know why, but I like the old fashioned paint brushes. :) AS well I have discovered that coloring in circular motions gives more even coloring of the image.
Another tip about watercoloring, do not put the water for coloring in same kind of cup as yor drink, cause you will end up drinking from it by mistake! (don't ask me how I know)
Here are the results:

Whisper white cardstock

Watercolor paper
Shimmery white cardstock

Oldies but goodies

Here are some old cards I don't think I have shared, as they are made with retired sets.
I have nothing else to share for now, I spent most of my day at the hospital, from one room to another, and on the end to tell me that they do not do that kind of Xrays (for my back) as they don't have the cassette to capture the whole spine...I was like : doh, after 1 hr waiting you realized I need that kind?!?! But I did renew my prescription, and finally the doctor prescribed me some better allergy medication, and not Loratadin (as after a while it stops acting)

We are going next weekend over my in-laws to celebrate Easter! (yup we are behind with our holidays) But from other side Easter in Macedonia (where I am from) is not until April 28th .

So Many Scallops

I am done with the mass production of out easter and moved cards, so now I can do something else:) Today is the last day of Sale-A-Bration and finally I decided to use for the first time the set "So Many Scallops" to make a b-day card for one of my best friends from Macedonia, who now lived in San Francisco, CA. She is turning 30 this Saturday!
Supplies:
stamp sets: So many scallops, Priceless
cs: whisper white, regal rose, almost amethist, chocolate chip
ink: chocolate chip, regal rose, almost amethist

Just Moved

Finally I finished the "Just Moved" cards. I was dreading making them, as I don't like reproducing many cards.I changed the design a little, I avoided the micro beads, and I still need to add some crystal effects, and of course write all those cards.

Color Combinations

This is the project I was working on last night and this morning. I had a list of color combos, and because I am more visual person, I decided to put those combination using actual cardstock, instead just names of colors :) There are other combinations I like, but this is just for begining:)

Be Inspired Challenge # 4

There was a new challenge today on Beate's blog, Be Inspired, the piece which is suppose to be our inspiration is textured cutting board shown belowHere is my outcome, I was hoping to look little different, but oh well....

Downline meeting

Last night we had out downline meeting and here are some of the swaps I got , and the make and take scrapbook page which Claire provided for us.
This one is from Laura, she used chocolate chip and pretty in pink and the stamp set Priceless

This one is from Claire made with the new Occassions mini set " Bloomin' Beautiful", I just love this set.

And this one is from Melissa, she used as well new Occassions Mini set called " Sweet and Tangy"

And here is the make and take, 6x6 scrapbook page.

Internship

In couple posts below I mentioned about my internships and the interviews and that my #1 choice is PECO if they offer me the position.
So I just got a call from the guy at PECO and he said I was on the top of the list, i.e. they have offered me the internship. I won't be able to see the offers until midnight today, but unoficially I'll be doing my internship at PECO (Philadelphia Electric Company)

Birthday Whimsy

**** EDITED with better pictures (daylight)*****

Well the weekend is over. We had great time in Mount Laurel, NJ at the marriage retreat, heard great lessons and had great time with friends, thought I felt it was perfect time to stay home and sleep with all the rain. We got back this afternoon and I had to start doing my homeworks right away, the helpful thing was that I was able to do some yesterday at the hotel as we had wireless and I had my computer with me. Anyways....I just finished my homeworks and I am glad this is my last week of classes, and then I have one week of finals. Then 3 weeks break until I start my co-op. I am hoping to get the internship at PECO, which is in the area of Distribution and Transmission System's reliability. On on 12th I'll be able to see the offers. I requested 4 interviews and I was offered 4, so we'll see now with internship offers. But with the end of this term, the school is over until the end of September.
ENough babbling, here is a card I started on Friday, continued on Saturday morning (before we left) and finished today while I was fighting to stay awake and do school work. The colors don't look real, as the lighting in our new apartment is not so good, or I haven't found a good spot for taking pics except on the balcony(during the day). I have had this set (Birthday WHimsy) for a while, over a month, and I just used it for first time for this card I made for my cousin's son who'll be 10 years old on April 13 ( 3 days after my b-day), it's kind of funny, my cousin turned 40, my aunt (her mom) turned 70, I am turning 30(SCARYYYYY), and my nephew is turning 10.
CS: river rock, blue bayou, very vanilla
inks: versamark, river rock, blue bayou, markers: only orange, yoyo yellow
accessories: dazzling diamonds, crystal effects, river rock double stiched ribbon, word window punch, sponges

Break between interviews

I had an interview this morning for a co-op, it was my third one in a week, and decided to come home for an hour before the second interview insted of waisting time and waiting somewhere for the time to go by....So I quickly made this card. (the card in the post bellow this one took me about an hour, as I used the boho punch for the little flowers, though I had some wait time for the crystal effects to dry)
I used:
Stamp set: Priceless
sc: blue bayou, groovy guava, rose red, sahara sand and whisper white
ink: versamark, groovy guava, rose red, blue bayou
accessories: corner rounder punch, dimensionals.
Now time for the second interview, all the way in King of Prussia.

One of a Kind

It has been long and frustrating day at school, especially the lab. Having someone whistling for 2.5 hrs next to you, and from other side someone who is so loud and abnoxious, and have their oscilloscope beeping all the time, and you are trying to fix your own circuit and it doesn't really work....I felt like screaming. Then when all was over, I stoped at GIANT on my way home to pick up stuff for dinner, and then this kid was screaming, the WHOLE Giant could hear it....
I was so happy when I finally made it home! And to relax a bit I retired to the "hobby" room and made this card. The kitchen now it's not the most visited space any more, as my craft stuff are in a different room (finally!)
Supplies used:
Stamp set: One of a kind
cardstock: chocolate chip, close to cocoa, pretty in pink, whisper white
designers paper: berry bliss
ink: chocolate chip, close to cocoa, pretty in pink (pad and marker)
accessories : boho punch, corner rounder runch, wide chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, sponges, crystal effects
