Hero Arts: January My Monthly Hero Release, Blog Hop and Giveaway

 Hi everyone.

Welcome to the January My Monthly Hero Reveal and Blog hop.

This month we have yet another amazing kit and it's all about Valentines Day and our perfect "match"

Here's the official description of this months kit:
With Valentine's Day right around the corner, the January My Monthly Hero kit celebrates the "perfect match". The centerpiece of this kit is dies to create a faux matchbox, which lies flat on your card or project and can be decorated and filled with the numerous stamps and dies included in the kit. But don't stop there, let your imagination go wild with all of the possibilities this kit contains! Use the images on their own, build repeating patterns, or add them to planner pages, journals, and more! There is a beautiful stencil included, perfect for backgrounds or mixed media projects. The kit is rounded out with a pack of fun heart-themed sequins and five sheets of gorgeous cardstock.

If you are following the hop you have probably arrived from Emily Midgett's blog and your next stop is Kelly Taylor.

For my card I used almost all pieces of the kit.
To make the card start by stenciling background (this amazing stencil is part of the kit) using Mist ink. Once stenciled, trim the piece to 4" x 5 1/4" and set aside.
Stamp image/sentiment using Unicorn White pigment ink on Peony cardstock and emboss in white. Die cut using the matchbox die outer part. Ink blend Azalea ink around the edges and use soft cloth to wipe off the excess ink from the embossing.
Next die cut the inner part of the box from kraft cardstock (it comes in the kit, too) and the matches from kraft and cranberry cardstock. Cut out only the hearts from the heart shaped matches from the cranberry cardstock and adhere to the kraft ones.
Assemble the matchbox (to make the inner piece visible from two ends, I cut it in half to extend it and adhere in the back)
Adhere all the elements onto the background piece, and add some enamel dots. To finish it off adhere to a top folded Dove White top folded card.
Next I have 2 for 1 cards using the Heart Flourish cover plate along with the Loving Sentiments Strips and You Are Mine set and dies. I started with a piece of Peony cardstock and ink blended Cherry, Azalea and Cotton Candy inks, then die cut and assembled using both the positive and negative. Added sentiments and enamel dots to finish them off. Super fun and easy!
