Hero Arts: August My Monthly Hero Release, Blog hop, Giveaway + Video

Hi everyone.
It's time for a new My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts.

And...it's another AMAZING!!! My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts.
Here's the official description of this months kit:
Adventure lies ahead with our August My Monthly Hero kit. The desert southwest is your destination as you create beautiful landscapes with the kit's layering stencils. We've included four ink colors to get you started, but a rainbow of possibilities await. Add some glistening shimmer with PearlEx powder. There are dies to cut out the desert elements, and a message set with greetings that are great for cardmaking and journaling alike. Be wild and free as you enjoy the creative journey!

If you are following the hop you have probably arrived from Emily Midgett 's blog and your next stop is Jessica Frost-Ballas.
For my card today I decided to do sunset/night desert scene. I used Pitch Black, Charcoal, Granite and Unicorn white inks to do my scene, then for the sky I ink blended Nautical core ink along with Purple Galaxy, Berry Smoothie, Taffy and Creamsicle, then splattered some white iridescent ink, Unicorn white and little dots using white gel pen.
The sentiment was stamped on Pitch black ink and embossed in white.
Watch the video below to see how this card came to be.

Also bellow I have a card using Seaside Highway Hero Scapes set. I love how it turned out. I stamped the scene using Mist, Paradise, green Fields, Pine and Granite core inks and did some ink blending using Lemon Yellow and Butterbar for the sky. I stamped the car and whales/dolphins using intens-ified black ink.

Ooh your starry sky is fabulous!! There is nothing better than losing yourself in the brilliance sparkling overhead. I love how you kept the focus on the sky, keeping the landscape in greyscale, yet not losing any of the detail. ~Deena C.
Wonderful creations with sky & scenery.

The skies are beautiful and really set a great backdrop for the cards. The dolphins are so cute. The neutral cacti against that night sky is fantastic.

My favorite thing about this blog (since it is my first time) is everyone is showing many ways to use what is in the set. Your sky is as beautiful as the night sky while sitting on the beach. Thank you for displaying your beautiful work. Jayne Haumschild

I like the colors of a beautiful sunset with the Mts in the fore ground being different shades of gray. It gives your card dimension. It is striking as well.
