Hero Arts: July My Monthly Hero, Blog Hop, Giveaway + Video

Hi everyone.
It's time for a new My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts.

And...it's another awesome My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts.
Here's the official description of this months kit
We’re serving up tropical summer vibes with our July My Monthly Hero release! This month’s kit features a flock of flamingos in HeroScape form. Layer the included inks to easily stamp the gorgeous birds, and create a scene with water below and clouds above. Your recipient will be tickled pink when they receive your card, embellished with the colorful gems or Teal Hero Pearls that round out the kit.

If you are following the hop you have probably arrived from Emily Midgetts blog and your next stop is Jessica Frost-Ballas.
I decided to make a bridge card scene for my card today.
Watch the video below to see how this card came to be!
For the card I started with a piece of 5 1/2" x 5 3/4" piece of white cardstock. I stamped the water using Arctic and Pool Party.
Since the panel was longer ( 5 3/4) than the water piece and we were going to score at 3/4" and 1 1/2" I left 1 1/2" on one side, then went and stamped that part. Even if it's not perfect, since we are scoring at the 1 1/2" mark, no one is able to see the imperfection (and it's on the inside part).
Ink blend Splash and Arctic to create the sky, stamp sentiment and clouds. Once completely dry, score each side ( the 5 3/4" side, the 5 1/2" is the height) at 3/4" and 1 1/2". Fold to create the base for the bridge part.
Stamp flamingoes using Peony, Cotton Candy, Azalea and Intens-ified black. Die cut, plus die cut 2 extras to stack them for sturdiness.
Adhere them to the outside flaps of the bridge base, making sure you don't put adhesive on any other part.
Also I have a card using the Cockatoo add on set and dies . I stamped the images on watercolor paper, watercolored and die cut. I ink blended some arctic ink on the background then adhered the images. Stamped sentiment and adhered to a sand note card.

I really like bridge cards. They can stand up on their own to be enjoyed. I had not thought of using a wide, die cut for the bridge. Yours turned out great.
Wonderful unique style to first card. Not heard of bridge cards. Will need to Google.
