Hero Arts: Glittery Mother's day card

Hi everyone!

Today I am over on the Hero Arts blog sharing Mother's Day card and a video using the new Mother's Day Window Die in a non-traditional way, along with some Iridescent EarthSafe Glitter and the Daisy Mosaic Stencil

.

To make the card, start by dry embossing piece of Dove White cardstock with the Daisy Mosaic Stencil. Tip: For a more prominent impression, I spray the cardstock with water before running it through my die cutting machine. I used a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock then trimmed it to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then to 4" x 5 1/4". Set the background to the side to dry (since it was sprayed with water).

Apply double-sided adhesive to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock. Die cut the Mother's Day Window Die. The adhesive needs to be on the top side, as we'll use it to adhere the glitter. Die cut three more from white cardstock, so we can stack the die cuts together to get a more dimensional and sturdy look.

Watch the video below to see the full process or click HERE to watch on YouTube.

Perform "surgery" to the die cuts to remove the frame and keep the Happy Mother's Day sentiment. Remove the adhesive backing and pour Iridescent EarthSafe Glitter on top. Press down to make sure that as much glitter as possible is adhered to the adhesive, burnishing with bone folder to make sure it's all pressed down and wipe off the excess with a Swiffer cloth. Stack the die cuts and set aside to dry.

Ink blend Creamsicle, Fruit Punch, Taffy and Berry Smoothie Reactive inks on the embossed background. Once satisfied with the results, position the stencil and secure it on the back. Add a wet baby wipe (or you can use a damp paper towel) and run it again through your die cutting machine. This will cause the baby wipe to react with the Reactive inks and remove some of the color and create a nice, subtle texture.

Trim the background to 4" x 5 1/4". Adhere it to Top Folded Dove White Card. Adhere the die cut sentiment to finish off the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you have an amazing day!
