Scrappy Tails Crafts: Coffee and Friends Pop Up card

I am loving the new Scrappy Tails release. It's about chocolate and coffee and those are two of the things that define me! ;) 

I love the new A7 Coffee Mug pop up die set and decided to put it to work today combining it with the A7 Coffee Mug Valentine Add-On and the Coffee Love stamp set and coordinating dies.

To make the card, start by die cutting the coffee mug base elements. I die cut the mug and base (saucer) from patterned paper, the handle from black card stock and the little doily (this one is from the Valentine Add-On set) from white card stock.

I used strong double-sided tape to assemble the pop up card.

Once assembled I cut a strip from patterned paper (the same patterns I used for the saucer) and adhered to the bottom part of the mug.

Next is time to decorate the mug. I used the whipped cream larger die to add to the top, the stirrer, and the little heart from the Valentine Add-On. I die cut them from white and green card stock and adhered to the card.

To finish off the card, I stamped sentiment from the Coffee Love stamp set on black card stock using Versamark ink and embossed in white. Die cut it using the coordinating die and adhered it to my mug!

Now you have a super fun interactive pop up card that fits in A7 envelope. You can also add this pop up inside A7 top folding note card (these are harder to find though).

Another variation you can do is to make the mug shorter (a shot of espresso perhaps), you will need to trim the base and also the pop up mechanism that goes inside. Also the height would need to be at least as the height of the handle.
