Hero Arts: February My Monthly Hero Release, Blog Hop, Giveaway + Video

 Hi everyone!

Happy Monday! Today is the first Monday of the Month which means it's time for new My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts.

And again, Hero Arts never ceases to amaze me with their kits and products. This month's kit is another that you don't want to miss. It's all about Hawaii. And if you know me I LOVE Hawaii.

If you are following the hop you have probably arrived from Emily Midgett's blog and your next stop is Jessica Frost-Ballas.

I was in a race against time to finish my project before my surgery this past Wednesday, so I have only 3 cards to share with you. I will have the video up later today. I decided to show you option of using this set using no coloring technique, but embossing. Also this is a great technique to use up your scrap card stock.
To make the cards I picked few colors and cut strips wide 1/4" and at least 4" long. Next I cut panels from Paradise, Pitch Black and Papaya card stock measuring 4" x 5 1/4". I cut it at 3" and then at 4" for the Paradise and Papaya card stock and 2 3/4" and then at 4" for the black. This way I had pieces measuring 1" and 1 1/4" in the middle that I put aside.
Also cut 3 pieces of Dove White cardstock measuring 4" x 5 1/4". You can now assemble the backgrounds. Start by adhering the smaller piece on the bottom of the white panel, then adhere the strips in order you like (I used 5 strips for the black card and 4 for the Paradise and Papaya). Once I adhered the strips I adhered the larger panel. Set it aside to dry completely. Once dry stamp images and sentiments using Embossing and Watermark ink and emboss in white.
Using craft foam adhere the panels to top folding note cards.

Giggling at your orange people. Perhaps a result of a steady diet of mango and papaya?
