Hi Stampers! Happy Friday!!!
Today we are hopping to celebrate all things fall and winter - and to rev up your holiday cardmaking motors! We are also joining Lea Lawson during her month-long Crafty Comeback Party. Lea is an amazing designer, and we are thrilled to support her! Tune into her blog every day this month - she began the party on October 7, and there have been many beautiful cards and fabulous giveaways along the way! To make this party extra fun, we invited along the fabulously talented team at A Blog Named Hero! Lots of inspiration on this hop today.
You probably came here from Lea's blog, if not you can go back to the beginning and start over at the Hero Arts blog. Or look at the full list of hoppers on the bottom of this post.
And from here, you will head over to Jana's blog and expect to be wow-ed!
Now, onto my card and box! I had to use the cutest Color Layering Penguin for my project today. He is irresistible! I used my MISTI to stamp few penguins using the pack of cubes and embossing powder that coordinate with this set. For my last layer I first stamped with black and then over stamped with Versamark and embossed with the sparkle embossing powder. Then die cut all the little penguins and set them aside. For the box I used 6 3/4" x 11" piece of Pool Layering paper and spritzed with the shimmer spray. I scored the 6 3/4" side at 2" and 5" and the 11" side at every 1 3/4" and you'll be left with 1/2" tab to adhere the box together. For the dome I used the Oval infinity dies as template for scoring (watch the video below). I stamped the hand drawn snowflakes bold prints and embossed with Sparkle embossing powder. Watch the video below to see how this box came to be.
After I put my box together I adhered the penguin, some vellum on the bottom, sequins etc. While I was at it, since I had extra penguins I decided to make a coordinating card, that is shaker card.
Prize:
We will be giving away a $25 gift certificate, randomly chosen from all of the comments left at every stop along the blog hop. To enter, leave a comment on any of the blogs by Friday, November 10 at 11:59pst, and the winner will be announced on Lea Lawson's blog the on Sunday, November 12.
