If you are hopping along, you will head over Michelle Short blog after my blog ( so if you get bored with this long post, you can head over there any time :P)
Scroll to the bottom for the full blog hop list and give away details. I added the supplies under each projects, so you know what is used on which project!
For my first set of cards I used used my MISTI tool to stamp pattern onto the elephant using few background stamps. I stamped the elephant, then removed the pad of the MISTI and positioned the background stamp on the bottom with face up. Inked it up with White pigment ink and closed the door of the MISTI. This allowed the pattern to transfer to the elephant stamp. Next, I put back the mat and my card and stamped on it. So the pattern transferred exactly at the same spot where the first elephant was stamped. I more than a dozen of these elephants, then die cut them using the coordinating die. You can use Versamark ink and emboss with clear embossing powder for the pattern. I did that for one of the tangerine elephants. For the background, I stamped my cars with the same bold prints background stamp and versamark and embossed with ultra fine embossing powder. Then assembled my cards.
To step it up a level, you can use some transfer foil and laminator (or MINC machine) to add some shine to the elephants you embossed. (just an idea) ( or the background)
I kept my next card pretty simple. I blended a piece of white card stock using : Mulled wine, strawberry, tangerine and dandelion bold inks and adhered onto white card. I swiped tangerine ink on the sides of the white card.Adhered my black panel that was previously cut using the fancy die from the kit (removed the cloud on the bottom right) adhered lion and tree. At the end I stamped "Hakuna matata)
Next, for the background I used distress oxides to blend my background. After it was all blended I marked circle area (used infinity dies to cut the circle) and applied some water, daubed it off ( to get that faded sun look in the background). After it was completely dry I stamped my images, trimmed the panel, adhered to layer of black card stock and adhered to one of the Sunshine note cards.
Now something little different. I used my MISTI to stamp the clusters of elephants and stamped with different shades of gray. I positioned the stamps in the MISTI, then picked up with the lid. Next I just moved my card stock (left, right, up and down ) to cover the panel with elephant images.
This card is similar with the one above, It's just smaller scale. I just had to use the monkeys!!!!
I have a video for this card that I will post later today. But I used my memory MISTI to stamp the suitcases. I adhered it to black card base, added the strip with white embossed sentiment.
